About the role.

The VP of Operations will lead residential construction operations across the Portland market, with responsibility for production, quality, schedules, cost performance, team development, and the successful delivery of active communities.

This individual will work closely with the Division President and partner across Purchasing, Sales, Land, Finance, and Customer Care to align operational priorities, support community performance, and achieve division goals.

The role requires a senior homebuilding leader who can develop high-performing teams, strengthen field execution, improve operational consistency, and translate business objectives into measurable results.

02 / Responsibilities

What you'll do.

    Lead construction operations across active and future residential communities within the Portland market.

  2. 02

    Develop, coach, and manage construction leaders while establishing clear expectations, accountability, and performance goals.

  3. 03

    Oversee production schedules, home starts, cycle times, quality, safety, costs, and closing commitments.

  4. 04

    Monitor community-level performance and implement action plans to address operational gaps, delays, cost variances, and quality concerns.

  5. 05

    Partner with Purchasing to maintain trade capacity, resolve labor and material challenges, and improve cost and field performance.

  6. 06

    Coordinate with Sales, Land, Finance, and Customer Care to align community plans, inventory, starts, deliveries, and homeowner expectations.

  7. 07

    Support new community launches by ensuring plans, permits, trade resources, schedules, and operational requirements are in place.

  8. 08

    Strengthen construction processes, reporting, controls, and best practices to support consistency and scalable growth.

  9. 09

    Provide operational insight to division leadership regarding forecasts, staffing, budgets, risks, and overall business performance.

03 / Experience

What we're looking for.

  • Senior-level operations or construction leadership experience within residential homebuilding.
  • Proven experience overseeing multiple communities, construction teams, and a meaningful volume of annual home deliveries.
  • Strong understanding of production homebuilding, including starts, scheduling, purchasing, construction, quality, warranty, and closings.
  • Demonstrated success improving cycle times, cost performance, field execution, and delivery predictability.
  • Experience developing construction leaders and building accountable, high-performing teams.
  • Strong financial and operational acumen, including experience with budgets, forecasts, cost variances, and performance reporting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent homebuilding leadership experience will be considered.
