About Tyler Fairhurst

I started my recruiting career in the middle east, then I worked for the Newport Group, small agency focused on executives in the Oil & Energy space.

With over 13 years of experience in executive search, Tyler Fairhurst has built a reputation as a trusted advisor in the Real Estate, Residential Architecture, and Energy industries. His career began in the Middle East, where he developed a strong foundation in recruitment before joining The Newport Group, a boutique agency specializing in executive placements within Oil & Energy.

In 2014, Tyler founded SECCA Search Group, driven by a vision to create a relationship-focused executive search firm that prioritizes long-term success over short-term placements. Under his leadership, SECCA has become known for its deep industry expertise, strategic approach, and commitment to both client and candidate success.

Tyler believes that executive search is about more than just filling positions—it’s about aligning top-tier talent with organizations where they can thrive. His leadership philosophy is centered around mentorship over management, fostering a culture of collaboration, growth, and integrity. SECCA is built on excellence, resilience, optimism, and gratitude, values that guide every search and every partnership.

Education & Personal Interests

Tyler holds a Bachelor’s degree in Pre-Law Studies from San Diego State University, where he honed the analytical and people skills that have shaped his success in executive search.

Outside of work, he enjoys golf, chess, and surfing, but his greatest passion is spending time with his four-year-old son. His guiding philosophy is simple: “Take care of people and they will take care of you".
