Compensation: Starting at $200K/year base + bonus + sign-on bonus

About the Role

The Sr. VP of Finance will play a critical role in leading financial strategy, reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and operational finance across the organization.

This individual will work closely with executive leadership and the Land, Development, Construction, Purchasing, Sales, and Accounting teams to provide financial insight, strengthen controls, support strategic decisions, and help drive overall business performance.

The role requires a senior finance leader with strong homebuilding or residential development experience, deep operational knowledge, and the ability to translate complex financial information into clear, actionable recommendations.

What you’ll do:

Lead financial strategy, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning to support growth, profitability, and operational execution.
Partner closely with ownership, executive leadership, and division leaders to evaluate performance, identify opportunities, and support key business decisions.
Work with Land, Development, Construction, Purchasing, Sales, and Accounting teams to ensure financial assumptions align with community performance, delivery schedules, and market conditions.
Oversee annual budgets, rolling forecasts, cash flow planning, variance analysis, and financial projections across active and future communities.
Analyze margins, absorption, pricing, cost trends, inventory, backlog, lot positions, and other key operating metrics.
Support land acquisition and development decisions through underwriting reviews, proforma analysis, cost assumptions, return expectations, and risk evaluation.
Strengthen financial reporting, internal controls, policies, procedures, and processes to support accuracy, consistency, and scalability.
Provide financial leadership around growth planning, capital allocation, market expansion, community pipeline, and long-term business objectives.
Lead, mentor, and develop finance and accounting team members while promoting accountability and strong cross-functional communication.

What we’re looking for:

Senior-level finance leadership experience within homebuilding, residential development, construction, or real estate.
Strong understanding of homebuilding operations, including land acquisition, development, construction, purchasing, sales, backlog, closings, margins, and community-level performance.
Proven experience leading budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, reporting, variance analysis, and operational finance.
Experience evaluating land and development opportunities through financial modeling, underwriting, and proforma analysis.
Experience partnering directly with ownership, executive leadership, and cross-functional operational teams.
Strong understanding of accounting, financial controls, reporting processes, and business systems.
Prior experience leading and developing finance or accounting teams.
Experience with a production homebuilder strongly preferred.

Required Skills:

Strong financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and analytical capabilities.
Advanced financial modeling and ability to evaluate margins, costs, returns, and overall business performance.
Strong executive communication and ability to translate financial data into actionable recommendations.
Deep understanding of residential homebuilding operations and community-level financial performance.
Ability to lead teams, improve processes, strengthen controls, and support company growth.
Comfort operating in a fast-paced, performance-driven homebuilding environment.
